Windblade PTCG

What it is

An index of every Pokémon card sold in Taiwan, plus a deck builder that prices a deck. There was no official API for the Taiwanese print run, so we built the dataset ourselves.

Data

3000+ cards indexed through a mix of web scraping (my part) and image recognition, cleaned into a MongoDB collection and served through an Express API. Card images sit in S3.

Serverless

The API runs on AWS Lambda, so there was nothing to provision or keep warm for a hobby project with bursty traffic.

UI

Dark theme because the cards are the visuals. React + Material UI, with hover motion on cards to give them a physical feel. Text scales up on desktop and down on mobile.
